That's right, this year UKPonyCon is going to CARDIFF!

Held in the beautiful Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel and Spa, PonyCon will be in the heart of Cardiff's city center, just a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle and culture of Wales' capital city!

The hotel itself boasts several large rooms that will be used for both days of our convention, dedicated screening and projection rooms and a fully staffed bar for our event! For residents (or those just wishing to unwind after a long day of rainbow plastic!), the hotel also features a lovely spa including a swimming pool, sauna and steam room, a perfect break from the convention madness, though I suspect we might find a seapony or two floating about the pool on Saturday night!

For more information about the Mercure Hotel, check out their website (and get a load of that spa!)

Also as this is our venue we have been in talks with the hotel to get you guys the best deal on your rooms. The hotel have offered us a discount rate of £95 for single rooms, and £105 for double/twin rooms. This is a bed and breakfast deal :)

Now this offer can only be booked online by using the following number, 02920 435000, selecting option 1 and quoting UK Ponycon.

This is also a limited deal offer in that there are only so  many rooms available at this rate. We may be able to secure more should our first allocation completely sell out, but don't bank on it. We don't want anyone missing out on getting a room because of that!)

Local food and shops:
Last year, food was expensive in the hotel and scarce outside it! This year, we've made sure not to repeat that problem! Within a two minute walk of the hotel's main entrance (on the left!) is a Gregs for affordable breakfasts and snacks, and just across the road from that is the city centre hosting Burger King, McDonalds, KFC, local bakeries, a Wetherspoons pub and several supermarkets.

Entertainment for partners/our tolerant non-pony-nut companions?
Of course! Cardiff is just bursting with culture, history and fun! Did I mention Doctor Who? Why not check out the Doctor Who Experience down on Cardiff Bay, where you can also check out several very iconic filming locations from the show! History buff? Cardiff Castle is a beautiful attraction right in the city. The arts? We have you covered! Cardiff has it all, from theatre to galleries to music! If none of that's your bag, it's a lovely city for shopping, featuring Build-A-Bear, Forbidden Planet and several toy shops for all your pony needs!
